A lovely white glazed meat platter, made by the Furnivals pottery for "The People's Refreshment House Association" or PRHA, a temperance society rewarding Public Houses for providing alternatives to alcohol, with a blue transfer printed PRHA motif". The platter came from a local Pub on the River Dart!! In all a really useful platter with a distinct talking point, just right for you Christmas Turkey to get the guests talking!!!
It measures 18 1/4" x 14 1/2". It is marked to the base with an impressed backstamp (see photos) and dated '91 for 1891. It is in good overall condition , a few glaze nibbles (see photos), but no other damage or restoration.
